From my numerous missionary travels, I have seen so many people both in the states and nations around the world who are utterly ravaged from the crushing weight of cruel injustice, hopelessness and fear. This has caused them to fall into the heart-slumber that comes from hope deferred. Proverbs 13:12 says, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life."
From young women caught in the sex trade in Thailand to little children eating styrofoam to quell their hunger in the garbage heaps of Mozambique, I have personally seen what the miraculous power of God can do to awaken hearts to Living Hope in the midst of great darkness. Our world is in desperate need of an awakening!
